Return & Refund Policy

1. Classification of Goods (Development Kit)

The ESP-EEG and associated hardware sold by Cerelog are classified as electronic development tools intended for use by researchers, engineers, and developers. These are not consumer electronics. By purchasing from Cerelog, you acknowledge that you are buying experimental hardware for professional or research purposes.

2. All Sales Are Final

Due to the experimental nature of Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) hardware, Cerelog does not accept returns or offer refunds.

We do not offer refunds for:

  • Change of mind or buyer's remorse.
  • Inability to integrate the hardware with specific software or projects.
  • Lack of technical expertise to operate the device.
  • Signal quality issues related to environmental noise or user setup.

We make no guarantees regarding the performance of the ESP-EEG in specific experimental setups.

3. Defective Units (30-Day Limited Warranty)

Our only exception to the "No Returns" policy is for hardware that is dead-on-arrival (DOA) or suffers from a manufacturing defect.

  • Eligibility: You may request a replacement for a defective unit within 30 days of the delivery date.
  • What is Covered: Manufacturing errors, dead chips, or board failure not caused by the user.
  • What is NOT Covered:
    • Damage caused by improper soldering, wiring, or modification.
    • Damage from over-voltage or connecting to incompatible power sources.
    • Physical damage (drops, spills, snapped headers).
    • "Bricked" units caused by firmware flashing errors.

4. How to Process a Defective Return

To open a claim, please email us within the 30-day window.

Subject Line: Defective Unit - Order #[YourOrderNumber]

Please include in your email:

  1. A description of the defect.
  2. Photo or video proof of the issue.

Resolution Process:

  • We will review your claim within 3 business days.
  • If the unit is deemed defective, we will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).
  • Upon receipt and inspection of the defective unit, Cerelog will send a replacement unit at no cost.
  • If a replacement is unavailable, a full refund will be issued to the original payment method.

For confirmed manufacturing defects, Cerelog will provide a prepaid shipping label. If the returned unit is found to be fully functional or damaged by the user, the customer is responsible for all shipping fees and a 20% diagnostic fee.

5. Chargebacks & Disputes

By placing an order, you agree to this policy. Any chargebacks initiated claiming "Item Not as Described" for performance issues related to the experimental nature of the device will be contested using this policy and your acceptance of terms at checkout.
